SEO for Accountants: How We Grew a Mexican Tax Firm From Zero to 756 Leads and Page One of Google

When Juan Pablo Salcedo and Adrián Camacho came to The Funnel Box, they had spent twenty years working as accountants in Mexico City. They had something very few people have: real experience, sound judgment, and a client base built entirely on referrals. What they did not have was visibility online. No serious website, no lead-generation system, no presence on Google. To the digital market, they were invisible.

The problem was not the quality of their work. The problem was that nobody could find them.

What we built together over two years changed that completely.

When twenty years of experience are invisible online

In Mexico, thousands of people search every month for an accounting firm they can trust. They go to Google, type their questions, compare options, and choose. Taxcom Advisors did not show up in that process. However brilliant they were as accountants, to anyone searching online they simply did not exist.

That has a real cost: leads that never arrive, clients who pick a competitor not because they are better, but because they are found first. Word of mouth works, but it does not scale. Relying on it alone means betting that growth shows up by chance.

The goal from day one was clear: build a digital system that turns their experience into steady, predictable client acquisition, without depending on whether someone happened to recommend them that month.

The first step: building what did not exist

Before launching any campaign, we had to build the foundations. Without them, traffic converts into nothing.

We built a professional landing page that made clear who Juan Pablo and Adrián are, what services they offer, and why to choose them over other options in the Mexican market. It was not a design exercise; it was positioning work. Defining the right message, for the right client, at the right moment.

At the same time, we implemented a CRM. Without a CRM, leads get lost in inboxes, in notes, or in memory. With a CRM, every contact is recorded with its full history, its status, and the next steps to take. It is the difference between running the business on intuition and running it on data.

With those foundations in place, we could start attracting traffic.

Google Ads: the first leads in a competitive market

Paid Google campaigns were the first growth lever. They are faster to launch than organic SEO and let you validate messages and formats with real data before investing in long-term positioning.

The results came, and they came consistently. In the second quarter of 2024, the first months of the campaign, we recorded 14 qualified leads. A year later, over the same period in 2025, that number had risen to 142.

Multiplying leads by ten in twelve months is not luck. It is the result of adjusting the strategy at every iteration: reviewing which ads convert, which keywords attract the right client, which message resonates in the Mexican accounting market. Every quarter there is a meeting with Juan Pablo and Adrián to review the data, debate what to prioritize, and decide how to improve. Without that client involvement, the numbers would not be the same.

The SEO that turns experience into digital authority

Organic SEO takes longer to deliver results, but it has an advantage ads do not: the traffic does not stop when you stop paying. Once a site ranks, it ranks. And in a market as competitive as accounting firms in Mexico, digital authority is worth a great deal.

We started with Taxcom almost from scratch: around 11 organic clicks a month. In fourteen months, that number reached 180 monthly clicks. And the site's position for the most important searches in Mexico moved from secondary pages to the first page of Google.

One of the keys to the SEO strategy was giving the content the firm's real face. Juan Pablo Salcedo and Adrián Camacho are accountants with twenty years of experience in Mexico. That accumulated knowledge, about the Mexican tax system, about the real questions companies ask, about how to structure accounting properly, is the most powerful asset they have. Turning it into useful, clear, rankable content is what gave the site its authority.

The articles signed by the founders themselves could not have been written by any generic copywriter. They speak in the language of someone who has been through it, who knows the common mistakes, and who can explain them without unnecessary jargon. That is what Google rewards and what readers appreciate.

The complete system: CRM, automation, and full tracking

As lead volume grew, managing everything by hand stopped being sustainable. We migrated to a more robust CRM, GHL, connected automations so no contact went unanswered in the first hours (which is when it matters most), and set up complete tracking.

Today, Juan Pablo and Adrián know exactly where each lead comes from: whether it is from an ad, from an organic search, from which specific keyword. That makes it possible to decide every month with real data, not guesses.

Tracking is not a technical detail; it is what separates working with a system from working on intuition. And working with a system is what makes it possible to scale.

The results after two years

After two years of working together, the numbers are these:

756 leads recorded in two years, deduplicated across three sources.

×17 growth in organic traffic: from 11 to 180 monthly clicks in fourteen months.

+800% leads per quarter in twelve months (from 14 in Q2 2024 to 142 in Q2 2025).

First page of Google in Mexico for the sector's most relevant searches.

These are numbers that change how a company grows. Taxcom Advisors no longer depends on word of mouth to win clients: it has a system that works every month.

What comes next: becoming Mexico's number-one reference

Taxcom Advisors is at a pivotal moment. The foundations are built, the system works, and the traction is real. Now it is about going deeper and going after leadership within their sector across the country.

Dominate rankings in Mexico

The first goal is to consolidate and expand their presence on Google. There are strategic Spanish terms, "contabilidad para empresas", "asesoría fiscal CDMX", "despacho contable en México", where the site is already starting to appear and where there is real room to grow. The plan includes strengthening the service pages, developing new content with high search intent, and building domain authority with a link strategy. The goal is not just to stay on the first page: it is to be the first choice.

Show up in AI answers

Search engines have changed. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude already answer questions about accounting, taxes, and tax management in Mexico. Millions of people consult these tools before deciding which firm to hire.

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the discipline that works specifically to make a brand appear in those answers. So that when someone asks an AI "which is the best accounting firm in Mexico", Taxcom Advisors is one of the options it names. This is not achieved by buying ads: it is achieved with authoritative content, with mentions in sources the AIs cite, and with a coherent, solid digital presence.

It is relatively new ground, and there is a window of opportunity for those who position first. Taxcom Advisors will be there.

Improve conversion and the sales process

Having traffic and leads is good. Converting them into clients more efficiently is the next level. We will review the sales follow-up flows, adjust the messages and response times, and work with the Taxcom team so that the closing process is as good as their technical service. The goal is to improve the numbers not only in acquisition, but at the final stage of the sale.

Automate processes and upgrade the system

The current automation system works, but there is room to improve it. Smarter notifications, more personalized nurturing flows, smoother integrations between the different tools. The time the Taxcom team saves by automating repetitive tasks is time they can devote to clients.

Update and scale the content

The website, the blog, and the service pages are not static documents: they are reviewed and updated continuously. New services need new pages. New questions from the market need new answers. And content that already works is optimized to work even better. It is ongoing work, but it is exactly what keeps rankings alive over the long term.

Working side by side with Juan Pablo and Adrián

There are clients with whom the work flows differently. Juan Pablo and Adrián are among them.

They come to every meeting having read the data, with specific questions and a genuine desire to understand what is happening and why. They do not just delegate: they get involved. And that involvement, a client who understands the process and takes part in it, is exactly what makes a digital strategy work in the real world and not just in a presentation.

After two years, what we have built together is not just a client-acquisition system. It is a way of working that improves every quarter, with data, honest conversations, and a shared goal: for Taxcom Advisors to become the most recognized accounting reference in Mexico.
